Trump wavering on supporting Jared

Satire from Ted Block

AROUND THE BLOCK

News with a Twist

As Kushner's troubles mount, will Trump continue to support him?

Lashes out at Jared…in Yiddish!

As the troubles for Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and one of his closest and most senior advisors, pile up, the president might be reconsidering his unwavering support.

(See this Op-Ed by the Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin for a summary of Kushner’s difficulties).

Only a few days ago, responding to a question as to whether Kushner would continue in his roles at the White House without a security clearance, Trump did not answer the question but referred to Kushner as being “a high-quality person” who has “done an outstanding job” at the White House and is not receiving any pay. Trump went on to say that, that Kushner has been “treated very unfairly” and criticized the process by which people receive security clearances.

(As a refresher, the following images provide a partial list of Kushner's roles):

But sources inside the White House are indicating that the president’s attitude might be changing.

In a fit of pique, Around the Block has learned exclusively that Trump “went ballistic” in his anger at Kushner, criticizing him for over a half-hour…partially in Yiddish!

While Trump criticizes someone every day, he has not used Yiddish to denounce anyone since 2015 when he went after Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign.

(Around the Block reported Trump’s Yiddish-ness in two posts:
Trump Says Hillary Got Schlonged - Vows to Use Yiddish Word in Every Future Appearance http://tedblocksblog.blogspot.com/2015/12/trump-hillary-got-schlonged.html; and

Our sources indicate that during Trump’s tirade he said, “When I gave permission for Jared to marry my ‘sheynah meydeleh’ (pretty girl), I thought he was a ‘yiddische kup’ (someone with Jewish smarts). Now I find out I was wrong – he’s really a ‘goyische kup’ (dullard).” Invoking the holy trinity of Yiddish insults, Trump went on to call Kushner a “schlemiel, a schlemazzle, and a schmeggegge, a little ‘pisher’ (insignificant or contemptible person) and a ‘ganiff’ (crook), telling his aides, “Jared has to go…zei gezunt’ (go in good health).”

To get answers as to why Trump's outburst was in Yiddish, Around the Block reached out to Trump’s personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, for answers.

According to Dr. Bornstein, “First, Jared is Jewish, so it’s not that unusual for Donald to use Yiddish when talking to or about him. But more importantly, Donald suffers from what I call, ‘Yiddishe Mama’ syndrome, which shows up in the children of an anti-Semite, like Donald’s father. Deep down these children rebel against that parental influence by longing to be the object of the hate, in this case Jewish." Bornstein went on to say,  "While it is very rare, in some instances that longing is evidenced by suddenly invoking the language of the hated people.”
