Bush campaign rolling out the family in last ditch NH effort

Barbara, 41 and 43 to appear at events

WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester New Hampshire, reported today that in a last minute effort to improve Jeb Bush’s standing in advance of Tuesday’s New Hampshire Primary, the campaign is bringing out the family's heavy hitters.

Barbara Pierce Bush, Jeb’s mother, will campaign with her son on Saturday, former President George H.W. Bush, is being transported down from Kennebunkport to appear at a town hall with Jeb in Peterborough on Sunday, and former President George W. Bush, Governor Bush’s older brother, will appear with the family at a joint rally on Monday in Manchester.

Getting the family together in one final push in New Hampshire was the brainstorm of Clayton Haversham III, Jeb Bush’s senior strategist for Bush family affairs.

Haversham told reporters that bringing out the whole Bush clan is just the thing that the campaign needs to “put us over the top.”

But not so fast say Jeb’s two other brothers, Neil and Marvin. Speaking for both brothers, Marvin Bush said, “That’s the problem with this family. It’s always about George and Jeb, Jeb and George. Mom and Dad, and especially Mom, don’t give a fig about us. And we’re fed up. So fed up, we’re throwing our support to Marco Rubio and will begin campaigning for him tomorrow.”

But hold on says Dorothy Walker Bush Koch, Jeb’s younger sister.  "Neil and Marvin can complain all they want but the fact is the Bush family is a real “boys club," and that “includes Mom,” Mrs. Koch said.  "They never think of me, first because I was a girl and now because my name isn’t Bush anymore. Well, I’ll show them what girls can do --- will someone point me to the Hillary rally?”
