Christie launches attacks against Rubio

Hopes to slow Senator down in NH

The Washington Post reported today that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has launched a fresh and sharply personal broadside in New Hampshire against opponent Marco Rubio, charging that the Florida senator, who surged to a strong third-place finish in Monday’s Iowa Republican caucuses, was “the boy in the bubble.”

In criticizing Rubio for his “toughness, intelligence and even his manhood,” Christie said, “This isn’t a student council election, everybody. This is an election for president of the United States. Let’s get the boy in the bubble out of the bubble, and let’s see him play for the next week in New Hampshire. I’m ready to play, and I hope he is.”

Despite his call to get Rubio "out of the bubble," Christie was not stopping at words. According to Christie spokesman Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri, "Governor Christie is particularly unhappy that Senator Rubio’s position as 'the boy in the bubble' was giving the senator an unfair advantage," going on to say that in an attempt to even the playing field, "we are searching both online and brick and mortar retailers to try to find a bubble big enough to fit the governor."
