Trump Jr. makes (another) mistake. Campaign spokesperson Litella responds, "Never mind."

News with a Twist

Donald Trump Jr.   erroneously praises Yakov Smirnoff’s “What a Country”

Promises his father will follow the Putin model to make America great again

Commenting on an earlier Around the Block report regarding the upcoming presidential debate, Donald Trump Jr., the Republican candidate’s older son, responded to Russian comedian and Vladimir Putin buddy, Yakov Smirnoff's remark, “What a country!” (http://tedblocksblog.blogspot.com/2016/09/gary-johnson-gaffe-results-in-debate.html)

“I agree with our good friend Yakov Smirnoff’s comment, ‘What a country.’ I, and the entire Trump family and organization, absolutely believe that Russia has become, once again, a great country under the outstanding leadership of Vladimir Putin, who my father, when he’s elected, will use as a role model to make America great again.”

When told that the country Smirnoff was referring to was the United States, not Russia, Trump Jr. referred all questions to the campaign whose associate communications director Emily Litella responded, “Never mind.”
