Trump spokesperson blames Obama policies cost Capt. Khan’s life

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer just listens

In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Trump campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson told Blitzer, referring to fallen veteran Capt. Humayun Khan whose family took the stage at the Democratic National Convention, “It was under Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton that changed the ‘rules of engagement,’ that probably cost his [Khan’s] life.

Capt. Khan died in 2004. Senator Barack Obama became President Barack Obama (and Senator Hillary Clinton became Secretary of State Clinton) in 2008.

Pierson, best remembered for wearing a bullet necklace while doing TV news show interviews last year after a mass shooting, received no pushback from Blitzer.

Apparently sensing that Blitzer was not going to challenge anything she had to say, Pearson then reeled off several other calamities that she claimed were caused by the policies of Barack Obama and/or Hillary Clinton including:

·       The financial crisis of 2008
·       Hurricane Katrina
·       Disregarding intel saying “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US”
·       The Iran hostage crisis
·       The Vietnam War
·       The Bay of Pigs fiasco
·       The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor
·       The sinking of the battleship Maine

After many calls to CNN questioning Pierson’s claims and deriding Blitzer’s lack of response, newly appointed CNN commentator and former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, came to Mr. Blitzer’s defense, praising his restraint.

“Wolf Blitzer deserves the thanks of all Americans for his lack of pushback during the Pierson interview, as I'm sure there is evidence somewhere on the internet that Obama/Clinton caused all these things,” Lewandowski said.

“Some people say that the media is out to get Donald Trump and his campaign and Wolf, through his lack of action with Katrina, demonstrated he clearly wants no part of it," Lewandowski continued. "In this interview, Wolf showed that he wants the people to decide the facts on their own and not rely on the crooked media's biases. For this he is to be congratulated.”
