Trump eats “best” Taco Bowl at Trump Grill
Says he “loves Hispanics”
Trump, who has had a contentious relationship with the Hispanic community, particularly Mexicans, who he characterized as “murderers and rapists” who are “streaming over our border,” appeared to be trying to make amends.
Despite this potential mesquite branch, Trump has pledged to deport more than 11 million illegal aliens, most from Mexico.
One of those illegal aliens Jose Garcia Ignacio de Zaragoza, the great-great-great grandson of the Cinco de Mayo hero, General Zaragoza, said, “Eating a taco bowl from a gringo restaurant on 5th Avenue does not make Donald Trump a friend of the Mexican community. I’ve lived in the U.S. for 20 years, came over as a child with my parents, have a driver’s license and pay taxes. But if Trump becomes president, I will be sent to a country I don’t know.
de Zaragoza went on to say, “And, although I really don’t know Mexico very well, I do know that if I have to go back, I won’t find any taco bowls, because taco bowls are not Mexican food.
A quick scan of the Trump Tower Grill menu did not list a Taco Bowl on any of its menus. In fact, the only item that appeared to be vaguely Hispanic is Chicken or Shrimp Quesadillas.
Undeterred, Trump campaign spokeswoman, Katrina Pierson, said, “Mr. Trump is so enthused by the huge response he’s gotten from the Cinco de Mayo tweet that he intends to honor more immigrant groups he loves by adding ethnic choices to the Trump Grill menu on special days.
Pierson suggested that the dishes under consideration include Chop Suey on Chinese New Year (“I love the Chinese”), Kamikaze sushi rolls on Pearl Harbor Day (“I love the Japanese”), Chicken Chow Mein during Chanukah (“I love the Jewish people”), among others. It is not clear whether the Trump Grill will include any Arab foods nor whether Mr. Trump “loves the Muslim people.”
