49ers to Re-Hire Tomsula

SF issues press release as Vikings line up for winning field goal

In late-breaking news, the San Francisco 49ers announced that they are re-hiring Jim Tomsula, with whom they “parted company” only last Monday.

In a press release, team owner Jed York said that after watching the Minnesota Vikings about to beat the Seattle Seahawks on a last minute field goal in the NFC wild-card game, he and general manager Trent Baalke reconsidered Tomsula’s performance saying, “We beat Minnesota under Jimmy T. Today Minnesota will beat Seattle, everyone's favorite to win the Super Bowl. Based on that evidence we’ve concluded that the 49ers are clearly one of the elite teams in the NFL, particularly under Jimmy T.’s guidance. With that in mind, we are suspending our head coach search immediately and re-hiring Jimmy T.”

In an apparent jump of the gun, York's press release was issued seconds before Minnesota kicker, Blair Walsh, shanked the potential game winning field goal sending Minnesota to a 10-9 loss to the Seahawks.

In a second press release, York announced that they have "parted company" with Tomsula a second time and have re-started their head coaching search. In the release York said, "Jimmy T. has been a valuable member of the 49ers family over the last 27 seconds and we wish him and his family all the best for the future."
