Hillary Clinton to lose “inevitable”
status
NSDPCI
withholds designation for now
In an unexpected move,
the National Society for Democratic Presidential Candidate Inevitability (NSDPCI)
announced today that it was one step closer to invoking its so-called “nuclear
option” by removing the sobriquet “inevitable” before former secretary of state
Hillary Clinton’s name.
The NSDPCI’s “nuclear
option” which removes “inevitable” from one candidate and gives it to
a competitor, has only been used once before when, in 2008, the NSDPCI took
“inevitable” from Hillary Clinton and gave it to Barak Obama.
NSDPCI spokesperson, Evan
A. Table said, “While it is clear that Hillary Clinton is no longer the
inevitable Democratic candidate, we are not prepared to use our nuclear option and give the appellation to
any other potential candidate, including Bernie Sanders, at this time.”
Table went on to say, “While
Senator Sanders did incredibly well in Iowa and New Hampshire and appears to
have overtaken Secretary Clinton in Nevada, it is still too early to name him ‘inevitable,’
particularly given that Vice President Joe Biden will appear on the Rachel
Maddow program tonight and we all know what a wild card he is.”
NSDCPI insiders, on the
condition of anonymity, are saying that the society’s credibility is at stake. “Look,
we blew it in 2008 and we appear to be doing the same thing now. So we’re
waiting to announce who will be inevitable until that person is truly
inevitable, perhaps sometime after the Democratic convention in July.
