Cruzdaughtercartoongate - The Shamelessness of Ted Cruz

This is a time-out post. It is not part of the News with a Twist series. It is not a parody and is not meant to be funny.

Earlier I posted a piece which I called Cruzdaughtercartoongate. It was satirical. Many people thought it was funny. In that post I was writing about the situation...the Washington Post cartoon, the Washington Post back-peddling, the fact that Cruz was taking advantage of controversy and, in my twisted world, the potential that other candidates would feel disadvantaged as Cruz used the issue to his political advantage.

And then I looked at the entire Cruz video that sparked the issue. And guess what? The Post should never have taken the cartoon down. The video is a shameless exploitation by Cruz of his daughters. In fact, shameless is too soft a word. Cruz blatantly used his children to take shots at Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton and even leaders of his own party, writing a disingenuous script for the older daugter to recite. Cruz's indignation at the Post for the exploitation of his daughters, and his follow-up exploitation by using the issue to launch a major fund-raising campaign, is phony, as phony as he is.
