Dr. Oz opines on Trump health; treats Kellyanne

Trump reveals medical information on Dr. Oz TV show

Bornstein exam disclosed while campaign manager Conway suffers whiplash

The Times reported today that after a whiplash inducing two-days of mixed messages, Donald J. Trump on Wednesday gave a small window into some of the results from his most recent physical examination in a taped appearance with the television celebrity Dr. Mehmet Oz.

This comes less than one day after Trump's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway defended Trump’s right to privacy when it comes to his medical records, eight hours after she switched gears and said that Mr. Trump would appear on TV celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz’s syndicated TV show to discuss his medical records and two hours before she said that the candidate would not reveal his medical records during an interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz.

In Conway’s last pronouncement, ostensibly the final word on the issue, she said that while releasing the results of Trump's physical on Oz's show was "considered, given the timing and platform," but that plans to do so were "never finalized."

Today, at a taping of the show for airing on Thursday, Trump, the master showman, surprised Dr. Oz, the show’s studio audience and Kellyanne Conway by indeed revealing the results of a recent physical exam.

During the taping, Trump handed Dr. Oz a one-page summary of the exam, which was conducted by Dr. Harold N. Bornstein last week. Bornstein is the same hyperbolic doctor who previously said Trump would, if elected, be the healthiest president in history.

According to one audience member, Dr. Oz said his interpretation of the letter from Bornstein is that Trump has no health issues, saying, according to Oz, Trump's cholesterol has come down to a good level after he was prescribed a statin drug to lower it -- Oz remarked that only a young person would have a cholesterol level that good, the audience member said.

According to another audience member, Dr. Oz did have a suggestion regarding cholesterol and Trump’s use of statins to lower his levels.

“While I’m thrilled that your cholesterol levels are where they are, I really think statin induced levels are not good for you in the long run,” Oz said. “I’d rather have you control your cholesterol with my exclusive blend of green tea extract, gooseberry essence, spirit of avocado oil and St. John’s wart.”

Dr. Oz then handed Mr. Trump a 30-day sample of his proprietary concoction, which he calls “Dr. Oz’s Proprietary Blend of Cholesterol Lowering Green Tree Extract/Gooseberry Essence/Spirit of Avocado Oil with St. John’s Wart.” Oz went on to say that after he finishes the sample, Mr. Trump can purchase additional product directly on his website, www.drozsellsallkindsofweirdstuffakasnakeoil.com, where payment can be made by credit card, debit card or direct transfer from the Donald J. Trump Foundation.

In an interesting side note to the Trump appearance on the show, Dr. Oz has picked up a new patient for his TV practice as it was announced late today that Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump’s campaign manager, would appear on the Dr. Oz Show on Friday where the doctor will treat her for a severe case of whiplash.

In an exclusive, Around the Block learned that on the Friday show, taped late Wednesday, Dr. Oz will manipulate Conway’s neck and then fit her with his newly developed, proprietary Dr. Oz Whiplash Preventative Collar prescribing its use only when she has to talk about Mr. Trump.
